1947 Canada 1 Dollar graded MS-63 by PCGS. Choice uncirculated with bright lustrous toning, this dollar is well-struck with excellent eye appeal. Under normal lighting conditions, the surfaces appear copper-brown in color, while a brighter light source exposes the vibrant mixture of blue, purple, and green tones scattered throughout the obverse. The reverse, equally as reflective and sharp, is a bit milder in coloration with the more vivid tones limited to the peripheral areas; the double HP (located on the obverse) on this piece is clearly visible under magnification. Some chatter on the obverse and a longer mark in the king's hair prevent a higher grade, though in terms of eye appeal it could easily rival similar dollars in higher grades. For registry set collectors, it is well worth remembering that this example (Pointed 7, DHP) is currently tied for finest graded at PCGS (population 6/0) and is the current top plate coin for the year and variety.
